Our next show Announced!

What is The Ghostlight Young Company? It is an educational theater program open to anyone grade 8 and up who wants to get involved and learn about theater making, under the lights and behind the scenes. We offer opportunities to explore all aspects of theater production including performance, character creation, and technical design and operation. We also welcome seasoned theater people of all stripes to be part of our community of mentorship.

Our mission is to grow and enrich the community theater community in the area, while providing a safe environment to try out new things, hone your skill set and make some great memories along the way.

What makes us different?  Education!
Many youth programs cast, rehearse and perform a show without allotting time for teaching the participants much beyond the material for performance.  After all, opening night looms!

At Ghostlight, teaching is a vital component at every phase.  Even at auditions, there is learning to be had;  auditions are open call so auditioners can learn by watching the work of other actors.  Throughout the rehearsal process, acting and technical learning is woven into the work.  A collaborative process between the actors and creative team is encouraged and cultivated.  Our hope is to develop actors and artists who are creative thinkers, outside-the-box problem solvers and supportive team players.

"I saw the Laramie Project play last night at the Catherine Hickman Theater here in Gulfport. It was put on by the Ghost Light Young Company. It was absolutely amazing. Powerful, intense, sad, and even funny at times. Highly suggest it!"                                                                                                                           ~Bob NQ
